It's Wednesday - the midway point of the week. Coincidentally, it's also right around the midway point for our countdown to Disney World. It's 25 days until the Incredible family heads back to the happiest place on earth and I have a lot of work left to do. I have all our advanced dining reservations in place, though there are still a couple of slots I'm hoping to fill and a few that need to be cancelled. I still have to fill out the special diets request form and return it to Disney so that they can be prepared for Caroline's food allergies - including letting them know what night we are attending Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party so that they can prepare a safe bag of treats. So, what other kinds of fun are we having while we wait?

I'm always on the lookout for fun, interactive ways to teach Caroline new or tricky concepts. Since we're in the phase of life where just about everything is new and tricky, this leaves the whole wide world open for possibilities. Last week, we suited up for a trek in the wilderness (our front yard) to go on a "Very Small Safari." What's that, you ask? Read on to find out!

My heart is heavy. I just finished watching the Nickelodeon special, "Allergic to My World" that aired last week. The program was a Nick News Special that, in about 20 minutes, highlighted several kids who have severe allergies and/or asthma. The kids did a great job of describing what life is like living with serious allergies and it really drove home for me the reality of what I've known for some time: it's a hard road ahead for Caroline.

My mom recently found the neatest book and sent it to me. It's really three books in one, and has activities, games, crafts and projects for 2, 3 and 4 year olds. It's written for pre-school teachers, I think, but it is proving to be a great resource for a stay at home mommy in search of activities! We tried out the first project - making an ocean in a bottle and I think everyone learned something.

We're closing in on our upcoming Incredible Family trip to Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL. There's only one thing I love more than the pre-trip excitement and that's the during trip excitement. I have been looking for lots of fun ways to keep Caroline pumped up for the trip and make some fun projects along the way. Of course, you may remember our first Disney craft, the countdown calendar, that we still get to do every single morning when we come downstairs. Caroline rips off a link and says, "We go to Disney World!" and runs off to color the glittery strip of paper.
