As I mentioned, our Christmas was chock full of lots of family - seventeen people in all sharing a pretty small space at the family Farm. That's the funny thing about families - they just keep growing! Caroline did a lot better with this crowd than I thought she was going to, so I'm very proud of her. She has recently gotten over some of her shyness and it's lots of fun. Of course, there's lots of sharing of everything when you spend that much time around that many people. I'm, of course, talking about germs. Caroline is officially sick. I still feel like we're ahead of the game as this is the first virus she's gotten during the whole season. (Who says being OCD about germs doesn't pay off?) So, Caroline has a little fever and a stuffy nose. I'm trying to stay on top of this as much as possible as we know that viruses are a major trigger for Caroline's asthma. Shall we review last winter's incident? So far, I'm alternating with Tylenol and Motrin when the fever gets too high and when she sleeps. The biggest thing for us, of course, is to keep an eye on the breathing and call the doctor if she starts wheezing. Luckily, we've been giving her the preventative inhaler twice daily since September thanks to our awesome asthma/allergy doc. Until then all I can do it dispense lots of fluids and TLC. Oh, and wait for me to get sick. Because we all know that's coming soon. |
